Easter Sunday Reflections

I dreamt of my beloved Lola who passed away already. In my dream, she was very much alive, walking on a street. I approached her and gave her a kiss and a hug. Perhaps due to her poor eyesight, she asked if I was Erick, my older brother. I said no, but she was insisting that I was him. It turned out that she wanted to see him more than I. Ouch! So what I did was bring my brother to my Lola. Their reunion was a tear jerker; in my dream, I was crying, and I was doing the same when I woke up.

Before my Lola died, she was being taken care of by my brother. I think I was busy with my studies, so I hadn�t had the chance to be with her that time, and I regretted it. That would explain why in my dream, I was practically set aside by my Lola.

My dream made me realize how important it is to show my family how much I love them, before it�s too late. I, however, am not a showy type of person, as far as emotions are concerned, so it is really had for me to do so.

Another thing that I realized is the more I get older, the more I get emotional. And I�m not even emo.

Juno and Joker on my iPod

I�m not one of those who rush to the theaters to catch new movies (unless friends tag me along). I usually wait for them to be released on DVD. (Pirated or original? Make a guess.) Just recently, however, I found joy in downloading movies for my iPod touch!

I just finished watching Juno. It is really a great film, and I won�t tell you why. You have to watch it to enjoy it. I also liked the songs in this movie. I�m going to download them next. :-)

The other day, I also watched The Dark Knight on my iPod. (You may laugh at me for being the last person to watch it, but I really don�t watch what everybody else is watching. I wait for the hype to die down.) Now I understand why people loved Heath Ledger�s performance. He was really frighteningly good in this movie as the Joker.

I seldom have the time to watch videos on TV because my mom�s always hogging it to watch her teleseryes, or my father�s always busy watching that Crime/Investigation channel. That�s why I find the iPod convenient despite its small screen. It was given to me by my sister who in turn inherited it from her husband. That makes my iPod third-hand. He he!

My Valentine Entry

I saw this ad on a tabloid last week. I thought it would be nice to post it here on my blog now that it�s (ahem) the season of love.

That Maey is one lucky girl! Not only will Betong give her his heart and life, pati katawan ni Betong kanyang-kanya! Well, I admit that�s too much information. I find this jologs, but sweet nonetheless. With a name like Betong, I don�t know if Maey would take him seriously. I hope she answered yes to his question. It must have cost a lot (of guts) for Betong to have this published. He he!

�Yan ang nanay ko habang pinapalakas ang siga sa �magic kalan� na ginagamitan ng uling. Mahigit isang linggo na kaming walang LPG kaya naman balik sa primitibong paraan ng pagluluto ang nanay ko. Mukhang magkasakit kami sa baga dahil sa usok mula sa supposedly ay �smokeless� na mahiwagang kalan. Kitang-kita niyo naman sa pic ang ebidensya.

Kung �di niyo pa alam, may shortage daw sa LPG ngayon. Haynaku! Sana masabugan ng gaas ang mga ganid na nagho-hoard ng LPG. Amen.

My Toy Robot

I wrote this on my other blog (which is now inactive after having only one entry) last Sept. 22:

"My childhood dream of owning a connect-them-all-toy-robot will never ever come true.

I went to Jollibee today to purchase the Voltron toys that come with their Jolly Kids Meal, but they were all SOLD-OUT! The same goes to the other four stores I�ve been to. I�ve been to five Jollibee stores in one day! I must be desperate!

I knew they would run out of toys, but I never thought it would be this early. Their promo runs until October 8 and it started just last Friday. All I got was Black Lion which I bought last Saturday.

How will I form Voltron, Defender of the Universe, if I don�t have the other four Lions? ;-(

I just checked eBay.ph today and just as I suspected, some people are already selling the items as a set for $14-$25 (about 600-1000php) when you can get it from Jollibee for 68php with burger and drinks. Will I buy from eBay? Forget it! I�m not even a Voltron fan!�

What I didn�t tell you was that a few days after posting this entry entitled "And I Form� the Head!� on blogsite, I was actually able to complete all five Lions! Thanks to a very good friend of mine who was moved after reading my entry. Dreams really do come true!

I actually play with this when I�m bored. He he!

I'm a Sweetheart

I don�t believe in horoscopes or personality reading based on them, but it always amazes me when what�s written on them perfectly fits who I am. Here�s what my zodiac sign says about me:

I received this on my e-mail with description of other zodiac signs. The e-mail also says that I should forward it to other people, or else I�ll have bad luck. Well, I don�t believe in those myths either. I�ve ignored probably a thousand chain messages saying that my mother will die if I don�t send them to other people, yet my mom is still alive and kicking.

I must say, however, that everything this e-mail says about me is absolutely true. And that�s the scary part. But that doesn�t mean I�ll start believing. My sign says I�m rebellious, after all. Tee hee!

It�s that time of the year when people make lists of things they promise to do but forget about them even before the month passes. I�m making one right now. Here are my resolutions for 2009:

20. Blog more often
19. Spend less and save more
18. Do well on my job
17. Stop pricking my zits
16. Sleep early
15. Stop daydreaming
14. Be a better friend, especially to my best friend
13. Be more open to gain more friends
12. Forgive people I have a grudge on
11. Stop thinking about what other people might say
10. Be more spontaneous
9. Have more fun because life is short
8. Stop worrying about things
7. Do �that thing� less often
6. Do �that other thing� more often
5. Act my age
4. Stop being selfish
3. Show my family how much I love them
2. Stop being insecure of others and myself (I have lots of insecurities)
1. Appreciate the littlest things people do for me

All the things on this list are doable, so I guess I won�t have trouble accomplishing them. I have the whole year to work on them, anyway.
